Originally from Western Massachusetts, Lark settled in Portland, Maine to be closer to the sea. Inspired by everything water-related, Lark finds joy and inspiration in being nearly surrounded by the Atlantic. After being lucky enough to go to a performing arts high school, Lark set aside painting to find a “real job.” After only dabbling for years, Lark rediscovered painting during the covid pandemic. Forced inside, she began painting again and it all spilled out as if it was always there waiting in the wings.

Now in Portland, Lark strives to surround herself in art, whether it be night classes at the local arts college, doing arts consulting and administration to pay the bills or being the Creative Lead at her partner’s ceramic teaching business, Handful Studios. Lark is currently showing her work titled, Flicker, in a group exhibition in Creative Portland’s gallery space.
